Sales Advice: Stick to your Guns

Are you willing to tell me whether you want to go forward or you don't?

That's how you lay that out.

You have to have the courage and the backbone to be able to say that in a non-threatening way.  But you have to say it firmly with the perception that you're okay if you don't get the business.

That's hard to do when you need to make a sales, or when you're three months behind on the mortgage payment and you're parking your car three blocks away so that the repo man doesn't come and get it.

It's hard to have enough guts to say something like that.

But until you have the guts to say that, you won't start making large bank deposits.
